Posted by admin on March 31, 2011

For those of you that are fond of using cotton quilt batting, Quilters Dream Cotton Quilt Batting is the most affordable in
the US today.

The Warm Company has increased their prices incredibly as
of April 1st leaving the small retailer out in the cold. All of
their cotton based products have increased in cost significantly
because of their dependence on importing cotton to manufacture
their quilt batting.

The cotton industry in Pakistan and other countries outside
the US has taken a turn for the worse. It is estimated that
cotton crops will not recover until at least 2 years from now.

The Warm Company has now resorted to manufacturing cotton
quilt batting with only US grown cotton. (also known as “local cotton”)

Quilters Dream Cotton batting has always been made with
US grown cotton. Thus, the increase in price of their polyester
quilt batting and cotton quilt batting is just a small pittance
in comparison to Warm and Natural Quilt Batting or even
Warm Tater Cotton Quilt Batting.

Wholesale Quilt Battings is now promoting Quilters Dream
Cotton rather than cotton quilt batting offered by any other
company.

The texture is easy to needle and comes in 4 different lofts.
Request (thinnest loft); Select (mid-loft); Deluxe (high loft);
and Supreme (thickest loft).

When referring to thin versus thick lofts in cotton quilt batting,
thinnest would be 1/16 of an inch. The thickest being
approximately 1/3 of an inch. Cotton quilt batts differ
from polyester batts.

I found a good use for my old dog food bags. From a video I saw on youtube I got the idea to use the old bags to plant my potatoes. As the plant grows I will be able to hill the potato by add soil to the bag and unrolling the bag.

Looking for 100% cotton for the 6 Hour Quilt by Kaye Wood?

Try the New Warm Tater by Warm & Natural.

Although it’s use is intended to make potato bags, at a full 1/3″ thick, we’ve found that it’s versatility goes beyond  just microwaveable potato bags.

Warm Tater cotton batting is fantastic to use especially if you want – or need your quilt to made from 100%  cotton.  It is already pre-cut to 22″ wide (maybe a tad wider) and is approximately 1/3″ thick!  No quilting through the batting is required.
